Standing, Walking While Holding, Climbing Deck Steps, Not Afraid Of Grass, Funny Faces

Hi Wonderful Boy!

Standing Without Holding On

For the last week or so, you’ve been starting to let go of the things you’re holding onto and stay standing up.  At first it was just for a very short time until you fell on your bum or held onto something again.  Now you do it for much longer.  Even if we stand you up, and then let go of your hands, you keep on standing up.  You’re such a big boy!

Walking Around While Holding On

You will be walking on your own soon.  You can walk all around the coffee table while holding onto it.  You push things like your Leapfrog piano/music table all around the house walking behind it.  You push your highchair all around too.  You’ve also been walking while holding onto our hands.  Here you are pushing your high chair around.  Such a cute happy boy.

Took Steps

Yesterday we were getting you to walk around while holding your hands.  We tried to get you to walk a couple steps to me and then to mommy.  You actually took about 2 steps on your own.  Well, Grumpy said it looked like a step and a stumble.  Its pretty exciting.  We are in no rush for you to walk, because you are bad enough crawling, but its exciting to see you progressing so quickly.

Climbing Stairs At Home

You can climb the stairs at home pretty quickly now.  We’ll have to keep the bottom of the stairs blocked off, because you head for the stairs and start climbing before we even know it.  I tried to let you climb back downstairs.  You went down a couple stairs on your hands and knees, and then you stumbled and fell…. but I caught you.  You’ll need a little more practice going down.

Crawling On Hands and Knees Really Fast

You are so fast on your hands and knees.  That way you can find stuff and get into trouble faster.  You still bum schooch around a little when you don’t have too far to go.

Crawling Up and Down The Deck Steps At Nana’s and Grumpy’s

This weekend, you went up and down the steps to the deck at the cottage a bunch of times on your own.  You crawl up on your hands and knees and you crawl down head first on your hands and knees too.  I don’t think you had any major stumbles or falls either.  We’re all so proud of you.  You’ve been crawling on the steps for a couple weeks, but you did really well this weekend.  Here you are climbing up the steps.

Here you are on another day sitting on the steps after climbing up and down a few times.  You are so proud of yourself!

Not Afraid of The Grass Anymore

Well, you certainly aren’t afraid of the grass anymore.  When we were in Mexico, I sat you on the grass next to a pool and you screamed.  Now you crawl all over the grass.

Drummer

I took some photos of you yesterday playing with one of Emma’s drums.  You were tapping on the drum with the sticks.  You were also tapping on one of her toy pianos with the sticks too.

Handsome Little Boy

On the weekend while we were visiting Nana and Grumpy, I took a bunch of photos of you in the grass under the apple tree.  The ground was white with apple blossoms … the pictures turned out nice.  You’re such a wonderful handsome little boy!

Talking … Maybe?

All the sounds you make are so cute.  You make the little sounds with expression as if you are talking or trying to say something.  When you’re mad, you make louder angrier sounds.  When you are happy, you make softer cuter sounds.  Its hard to describe the sounds …  I’ve been taking some videos of you lately to capture your cute little sounds.

Understand What We Say?

On the weekend, Mommy and I were talking to you.  Mommy said where’s your ooosh (that’s what she calls your soother).  Right away you repeated “oooooos” or something like that.  Every time we asked you where it was, you’d pick it up, raise it in the air over your head with excitement, and then bang it down on the bed where you were sitting.

There are other times when we are talking to you or asking you something and you seem to understand with the way you react, the expressions you make and the sounds you make.

Funny Face

Lately you’ve been making a funny face.  You do it to show displeasure or when you don’t want something.  Here you are making your funny face at a restaurant when we went to visit Old Nanny.  You cute silly boy.

Here you are trying a lemon.  Mmmmmm.  Emma and your cousin Jenna were eating lemons so we decided to see if you liked them.  I think you liked it a little.  This was your first reaction.

Here’s a better pose.  You are such an adorable little boy.
